In mid-November, we turned on the new 40km zone outside Marryatville High School.

Two and a half years ago our school and wider community were devastated when two students were hit by a truck on Kensington Rd.

Since then we have worked hard to make sure our children are safe. We fast-tracked improvements in school crossing visibility and increased enforcement by SAPOL.

These new time-based 40km zones are the next stage and will be in place from 8:00-9:30am and 2:00-4:00pm on school days.

There is nothing more important than the safety of our children. If you’re driving along Kensington Rd during drop-off or pick-up, please keep an eye out for the new signs and slow down.

More schools will have 40km zones soon, including those on Portrush Rd.
